How To Speed Up Your Mac

Apple MacBook In ActionAs the software in your computer is updated, and the computer is used more frequently, the RAM of the computer begins to get overcrowded. This means that more and more available space is being taken by the computer, leaving you with a machine that works haltingly and with a less reliable functionality.

Fortunately, it is extremely easy for you to upgrade the RAM and get the best possible function out of your computer once again. If you can upgrade your RAM, it means that you will not have to invest in a new computer, thus saving yourself money.

Simply changing the RAM of your machine doesn’t take any of the tools installed in it. The RAM slots are just above the battery of your MacBook, so finding it will be incredibly easy. To replace and install a new RAM, you need to follow the instructions below to make sure it is done correctly and without problems.

Taking Out The Old RAM

If both the slots are full of data, it means that the time has come for you to take out the old RAM so that you can replace it with the new one. To take out the old RAM, locate the plastic tabs which hold the RAM and pull those back. There is will a stick on the RAM, which keeps it in place and you need to lift it out of the way before you can take it out. There will be another one below the RAM, which would be relatively harder to get to, but the process will eventually be the same.

Put In The New RAM

To place the new RAM into place, just do the opposite of what you did to take out the older RAM. Just push the exposed side into place and push down until you hear a click indicating that it has snapped into place.

Other Repairs

There are other repairs that you could do yourself, but would not be advised because they will take a lot of trial and error. The more complicated problems that can arise in your MacBook include:

Droopy Display Hinge

In a couple of years, the MacBook will start to get ‘droopy’. This is because the inside of the lid has become loose after years of working. It can be fixed, but it would require you to take it all apart before putting it back together again.

Broken Keyboard

If you have spilled something on your keyboard or accidentally knocked out a few of the keys, there is little that can be done. Unless you wish to glue the keys back, you need to get a new top case. There are many places which offer you this, so choose wisely.

Broken Logic Board

One of the worst problems that a MacBook user can suffer through is a broken logic board. It will end up costing you a lot of money, so normally it is advised that you just get a new computer. However, if you do feel the need to fix it, there are guides online that can help you.

It doesn’t matter what kind of problem you face, with a MacBook, it will always be complicated. By getting professional help and guidance, however, you can find a way to stay clear of the major problems and stick to those which you can fix yourself.
