Turn Your Bathroom Into An Oasis Of Relaxation

Luxury Bathroom

I don’t know about you, but I tend to spend at least a couple hours a day in my bathroom. Not necessarily because I have to, but because it provides a relaxing escape from the rest of the world. If my wife is nagging me (sorry if you happen to read this honey) or if I had a stressful day at work, I can go in the bathroom, shut the door, and take a hot shower to wash away the days worries.

Creating the ideal blissful environment in your bathroom can be as easy as adding a few extra finishing touches. In this article, I’m going to share with you a few simple ways I transformed my bathroom from just a ordinary room with a toilet and shower, to a sanctuary I look forward to going into every day.

If you are in a old home or apartment chances are your bathroom may be a little outdated. If you’re in a new home or just recently renovated your bathroom you can skip onto the next tip.

One of the simplest and easiest ways to upgrade your bathroom is to add a splash of color with some tile on your floors or shower. Tile can be cheap or expensive depending on what kind you want to go with. If you go to your local hardware store and let them know what you want to do with your bathroom they will point you out to exactly what you need.

If you can’t afford to hire someone to lay the tile for you, I suggest doing some research on how to do it yourself. It may take a little trial and error but you should find yourself having no problem laying it down. After finishing your new shower and floor I suggest going out and purchasing a relaxing massaging shower head.

Simply adding candles or any type of wax oils are proven to provide relaxation to the body. Next time you head into the shower turn the lights off, spark up a flame, and light some candles. You will find that the scents along with the hot steam of the shower will instantly soothe your mind and body.

Add a Radio/TV

So I personally have a small 22 inch TV in the corner of my master bathroom. Obviously some people may think this is over the top, but with the amount of time i’m in the bathroom I really enjoy catching up on some sports or the local news when I have time. Consider purchasing a small TV to hang in the corner somewhere away from the water and you may find yourself wondering what took you so long to add one in the first place. If you don’t want to go that route, I highly suggested getting some type of radio or cd player in your bathroom. Listening to music while bathing or showering will only relax you more.

Now that you have hopefully taken the few steps I have listed above to improve your bathroom experience, all you have left to do is add some decorations. It is up to you what you want to add or how crazy you feel like getting. I suggest hanging a few pictures and adding some flowers or even a small fountain to lighten up the mood.

Your bathroom is really what you want to make of it. All I am really saying is that too many people don’t appreciate just how awesome a bathroom can be. Everyone wants to have some time alone each day and they don’t realize that it’s staring them right in the eye. So decorate it as you please, and start enjoying more time to yourself in the bathroom!
